Access Gateway
Citrix's Access Gateway is a hybrid SSL VPN solution that enables organisations to provide secure access to private resources over public networks.
The Citrix Access Gateway is the next generation of IPSec and traditional SSL VPNs and was developed following the acquisition of Net 6. What makes it different from other SSL VPNs is that its unique features provide a secure, always-on, single point-of-access that is simple and cost-effective to deploy and maintain.
The Access Gateway can be used as a stand-alone access solution and doesn't require Citrix technology to operate. If you're already using Citrix, you can use Access Gateway as a complimentary access solution to the Citrix's portfolio of products and services.

- Access to application or network resource:
Any application in its native form, whether client-server or web-based, can be securely accessed remotely.
- Access from any location:
It will work from anywhere, whether it's behind a firewall, within another organisation, from a hotel or from home.
- Improved security:
By hiding the IP addresses of the connected network, worms, viruses and Trojans cannot see the connected network and because they can't see the network, they can't traverse it and propagate.
- Simplicity:
Users run the client by simply accessing a secure website and using their normal authentication credentials. Once installed, users just double-click on the Access Gateway desktop icon and if the client requires an update, it is automatically installed.
- Always-On functionality:
The remote client continues to run in memory even when the laptop or PC is disconnected from the network. This unique functionality is not available in other IPSec or SSL VPN's.

Its auto-upgrade capability frees administrators and users from the hassle of installing, maintaining, supporting and upgrading IPSec VPN clients.
